New Telus modem/router and wifi killed Smart TV
We recently had Telus upgrade our equipment. We now have an NH20A modem and two B20A WiFi routers. Since having the upgrade, our Smart TV (Sony Bravia A80K) has no internet access, despite being...

9 months agoIt'll be a Sony problem if it's the only device not connecting. Since the techs don't troubleshoot unsupported hardware, they will charge you if they come out and find the connection itself to be in working order and just the one device affected.
You never did say what your old hardware was. Your new hardware has the NH20A router (not modem) and a pair of B20A wireless access points (not routers). They use the same networking standards as the old Telus hardware. Does the Sony have a valid IP address that matches what the NH20A assigned to it? Do you have any custom network settings on the Sony like a static IP? Does it show an error? When you run the onboard diagnostics what does it say?

Thanks for your reply.
The Sony TV does connect to WiFi and Internet. Disney Plus and YouTube work fine. But Netflix, Prime and Crave all have connection errors.
The previous router was a T3200M.
The Sony TV reports having a valid IP address (192.168.1.67), and the NH20A "Connected Devices" shows that IP address associated to the MAC address of the TV.
There are no custom network settings. The NH20A is as Telus left it.
I'm not sure what onboard diagnostics you are referring to. I could not find any diagnostics in the NH20A menus (which are [Overview > State | Connected Devices | Fiber | Network Status | Router Information], [Network > LAN | WAN | Firewall | Dynamic DNS | IPv6 | MoCA], [USB] and [Administration]).
