Promotional calls. Scams?
I periodically get calls claiming to be from Telus. Are they legitimate? How can I tell?

1 hour agoThere are often many ways to spot scam calls. These are some but not all.
- More often than not they'll call or ask to be called back at a non toll free number.
- If they call you frequently / daily.
- If you're a Telus customer and they don't have any of your information already.
- If they offer you an employee ID number to try seem real.
- As most of the scammers tend to be based outside of Canada, often in south Asia, so they may have a noticeable accent. There are legit Telus employees that may have accents as well so it's not always a giveaway on its own.
- Any email that isn't *@telus.com specifically.
- Any website that isn't telus.com.
- Any one that asks you to reset a password and or tell them the 2FA code you receive by text/SMS.
- Any that ask you to install an app on your device(s) so they can help you through the process to get the promotion.
- Any that promise a free phone or one so heavily discounted it seems too good to be true. Especially for flagship devices like iPhones and higher end Samsung Galaxy.
