Collections With No Notice

This literally just happened to me. I had a phone call today, called it back and it was a collection agency. I got a text yesterday from Telus with my final bill amount and that it had to be paid before May 26, 2025. That is still over 2 weeks from now. I had paid the full amount as soon as I got the text message. I will be disputing if I see this as a collection on my credit bureau and will not NEVER have another telus account.

- Hi, I had actually cancelled my account which was month to month. The amount is owing is now paid in full. This is not a good business practice and I will never have another Telus account whether it is Home security, Mobile or Internet because of it. I could see if it was 3 months overdue...but it was not.

This just happened to me today! About an internet account I closed last year. Telus gave me no notice about a late bill, absolutely none. And I actually still have a cellphone account with them with my phone number and new address. They gave me no email, no call, and the address they gave the collectors was an old address so I never even recieved a letter! So my credit score is down 51 points, I just gave birth to my beautiful daughter 4 months ago and we were hoping to buy a home in the next year or two. Now my credit is terrible. All over $200 that I would've paid on the spot if Telus notified me that I was late!
