[URGENT] Boost Wi-Fi 7 (B02E) Cannot Obtain Public IP in NAH Bridge Mode

I'm trying to optimize my Telus PureFibre network by setting my Boost Wi-Fi 7 device as the primary router to manage my Mesh network effectively.

My current topology relies on the NAH -> Coax Adapter -> Boost 7 link.

The Problem:

NAH Successfully Bridged -> Boost 7 Fails to Connect

  1. NAH Status (Network Access Hub):
    • I successfully accessed the NAH interface and set the Local Port Mode to Full Bridge Mode.
    • The NAH indicator light is green, confirming the bridge is active and routing/DHCP is disabled on the NAH.
  2. Boost 7 (B02E) Status:
    • The Boost 7 is connected via the Coaxial Adapter link.
    • It is failing to obtain a public IP address (stuck on connecting/error).  The indicator light is red.

Steps I Have Already Taken:

  • Confirmed the NAH is in Full Bridge Mode.
  • Performed a complete power cycle on the Boost 7 (unplugged for 1 minute).
  • Confirmed the connection is from the Coax Adapter to the Boost 7's WAN/Internet port.
  • Tried restarting the modem after the change.

Any advice on the authentication/handshake process for the Boost 7 in a bridged environment would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help!

Try first connecting the bridge port to PC and see if the bridge port works on single device. After that as Nighthawk has mentioned, you do need a router if connecting more than one device coz Boost is just an access point.

I would not recommend connecting a PC to the bridged port. Residential service is limited to 2 IP addresses and if they're both used up already, which I suspect there's a good chance that they are, the PC wouldn't be able to connect out on the bridged port. Basically what needs to be done is the NAH has to either have the bridge mode disabled or a full reset. It had a valid IP and could connect out before. The Boost units can still be managed separately from the NAH when it's not in bridge mode.

If the Wifi 7 Boost is the same as the Wifi 6 models, the Boost units are NOT ROUTERS. The NAH is the router and the Boost units are merely wireless access points. They won't work if directly connected out over a bridged connection.
