Upgrading to Telus TV+/Cloud Recordings
My parents have the old Optik boxes, with their HD recordings still. Is there a timeframe on when each account will be reached out to about upgrading? Is upgrading something they should even want?

Community Power UserMy understanding is that the switch is tied to the availability of fibre services. Telus is trying to phase out the old copper lines.
I'm in a condo that still uses copper and I have yet to be notified of the switch. My brothers house was switched to fibre a while back and he recently had to move to the new box.
If you are already on fibre you may be a candidate for the switch. If you are still on copper you are likely fine until fibre is available.
The new system is definitely different. They could possibly lose some of their recordings in the transition. They might like the voice commands and the ability to watch their recordings on mobile devices.
