Stuck on Stingray 🤦‍♀️
This is on my mother-in-law’s TV. Mine at my own home doesn’t do this. I took a video of the constant redirect back to Stingray if you try to change the channel. I’m trying to help an elderly woman t...

That worked. I had to press exit out of Stingray two times before it went to a black screen. It gave me lots of time to input another channel which is perfect for my elderly mother-in-law. I can teach that to her and write it down. Adding Google Home or Alexa would be too much for her at this point in her life.

20 days agoHey Apple4u - Try this! Because the interactive Stingray app is running in the background, a single "OK" click fails to clear its cache. Press the Guide button. Type in 104 (or your desired channel).Immediately double-click the "OK" button very rapidly. There must be absolutely zero delay between the two clicks.

Yes that works for me but is very difficult to teach to an elderly woman. She’s in a long term care home now. She can’t push the buttons fast enough. At her old place with Rogers/Shaw TV she had a remote she could speak to and it would change the channel for her. Is there such a remote with Telus?

Hello Apple4u, we do have such a remote but it will depend on the actual equipment she's using. Do you know which TV system she's using ? She can also call our support team and they'll be able to give her the different replacement options. 1-888-811-2323

Okay perfect! Our voice control is done through Google Home and/or Alexa and not directly through a remote. Here is a link to find out more.
This Stingray issueis known by the team and we are working to resolve it. In the meantime, a user posted a work-around:
Here's what works for me to get out of the Stingray app.- Press Exit on the remote until the screen goes blank.
- Enter the TV channel you want to go to.
- Press OK on the remote
You should be able to hit the Back button to exit out of Singray. Please let us know if these steps helped
