Optik TV vs Rogers/Shaw Ignite/Xfinity
In 2023, I was, very briefly, a Telus Optik TV and internet subscriber. The many, many issues with the Optik set-top boxes forced me to switch to Shaw, who gave me a great deal on a 1.5 Gbps internet...

Too bad there is now a herd of people sending messages under the user name Telus support. I have noticed there is no continuity in advice from Telus support except for hey send me a PM.
I now have my third box as well, except I reported that on a hunch I plugged in the new arrival power supply into the box I thought was dead and instead found out that it is the power supply cord. If others use the power cord from the failed unit then the new one will appear failed as well.
So why is it not suggested to use the new cord on the box thought to be failed, when one of you know this. Is Telus support Ai?

Thank you so much for the suggestion. Just used the new power cord and HDMI cable with the new box they sent and it now works! What a relief… thought I’d have to wait for a technician to come over and troubleshoot.
You’re completely right, they have major issues with the power supply and none of the customer service agents has ever suggested that could be the culprit. Anyhow, glad I can now have my TV working especially over the holidays.
