Desperately need help connecting to my NH20A via the 10G LAN port in bridge mode
I'm really hoping I could get someone's help with connecting to the 10G LAN of our NH20A in bridge mode.
I believe this is possible based on what I've read here and here, and the very helpful commentary of DrPacman.
Here's what I've tried:
- Reset the NH20A
- Login to the NH20A web interface (at 192.168.1.254) and enable Bridge Mode for 10G LAN port
- Reboot the NH20A
- Use an ethernet cable to connect the 10G LAN port on the NH20A to the WAN port of my router.
- Configure a PPPoE connection on my router WAN interface using the credentials I obtain from the NH20A WAN connection settings (I was able to reveal my password and confirmed it with an agent over the phone). My router software is running virtually on a Proxmox host with the WAN interface set to be VLAN aware with a VLAN Tag of 40 (from my NH20A connection). I've also tried another configuration, in which the VLAN was configured on my router using the WAN port as the parent, and then assigning that VLAN as the WAN interface.
Nothing I tried has worked.
This seems so simple for others based on my reading. I tried calling Telus support, but only got through to a human being once, and that gentleman didn't seem to understand what I was trying to accomplish, even though he was able to confirm my PPPoE credentials.
Update: I've sorted out my connection issue with my preferred configuration. Details are here: Unable to connect to ISP router in bridge mode over PPPoE : r/opnsense
