Considering switching back to shaw.... need some advice
We were long time Shaw subscribers and were happy with the service until we moved last year. In our new neighbourhood, the shaw internet was not very good and would really bog down during peak hours...

There is no modem.
You should have an ONT to convert optical to Ethernet, a MOCO adapter to convert Ethernet to coax, and the Telus gateway (modem/router).
Try taking the gateway the the garage, and connecting it directly to the ONT with a short Ethernet cable, and let us know what you find.

What do you mean by "modem next to the ONT". Can you name the name of the modem, model? Normally from the ONT there is a patch cable, CAT6 or CAT5 that connects to the WAN side of the router, then from the router you connect all your devices.
