Closed Captions Size on Live TV

Following up on this closed thread: https://forum.telus.com/discussions/my_home_services_and_devices/closed-captions-on-digital-tv-box/176015

On the TV+ Android TV box, the caption settings I choose under Accessibility / Display / Closed Captions (smaller font, lower background opacity) don't carry over to Live TV or On Demand. Captions still appear large on an opaque black background, even after rebooting.

TELUS has said a patch to make captions scalable is in the works, but there's been no ETA, and a text scaling firmware was promised about two years ago.

Can TELUS share:

1. The current status of the patch
2. An expected release date
3. A workaround in the meantime
