Travelling with E sim card, is my phone unlocked?

Hello, we are going to New Zealand and want to get an E sim card once there. We have an Iphone 15. Is this phone "unlocked" and so can accept a temporary sim? Many thanks.

    All phones sold in Canada after Dec 2017 should be unlocked.  iPhone 15 was released on 2023, so yes it’s unlocked.

A friend on another network (not Telus) found his phone was not unlocked. Unfortunately, this was only discovered on arrival at his destination. If you have a friend with coverage on a different network (Bell or Roger’s) and can borrow their SIM for a few minutes, you can confirm.
