Travelling / Roaming Questions

I recently changed my plan (after speaking to a rep) to '5G+ Complete' with $0 unlimited long distance pack (27 countries) as I will be travelling to Mexico (with a short business trip to the US) for 4 months.

I understood this package to mean that I will be able to use my cellphone as I do here in Canada - phoning/texting/etc with No roaming charges.

Looking on my Telus account online it does show that I have a '5G+ Complete' plan but it also shows 'Add EasyRoam' for travel.

Am I wrong?  Am I not able to use my cell in Mexico as I do here in Canada with the '5G+ Complete' plan?  Will I be getting roaming charges?

I'm understanding that 'Freedom Mobile' and 'Public Mobile' have great out-of-country plans that you do not have roaming charges.     I am already with Telus and don't want to change unless I have to.
