Order new device without new plan
How can I order or upgrade a new device without a new plan or SIM?

- I currently have an active SIM card or plan and got the old device fully paid so I need an upgrade. When I’m about to upgrade and order online it says that I need to pick a new plan when I already have a plan
A upgraded phone is subsidized. You will enter into a new contract and a new plan. Your old plan ceases to exist.
If you want to keep your old plan. You must purchase the phone at full retail price.
And yet there is no option on the app to purchase the phone at full price! I'm on AA family plan and it won't let me upgrade my teens phone without going OFF the family plan and getting him a full cost plan for his line. I got the phone because Telus promised me id have no issues ever upgrading his phone and won't have to update the -family- plan that allowed me to add his line at $45/month
Unless you purchase the device outright, you’ll have to get a new plan.
