Here’s how to check if your iPhone is carrier locked or not. If it’s locked, you will need to call Telus to get it unlocked.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap General.
- Tap About. If "No SIM restrictions" appears next to Carrier Lock, your iPhone is unlocked
If the phone was reported as lost or stolen then it would be blacklisted by Telus.

Already checked that. That is why I said "the phone indicates that there is no block"

murray3 We stopped locking devices in 2016 (iPhone 7 onwards are sold unlocked) so your device wouldn't have been carrier locked to TELUS. The only thing that could potentially be "blocked" would be the device having been blacklisted on the National IMEI blacklist as the result of it being reported lost or stolen. This "flag" would prevent the phone from operating on networks in Canada and the US.
You can enter your phone's IMEI to see if it's on the list: https://www.devicecheck.ca/check-status-device-canada/
