Community Power UserFaceTime is an Apple service that uses data for voice or video calls. If you plan to use FaceTime over cellular, you need a data plan to use FaceTime. How much data will depend if you're doing audio or video, how often you'll use FaceTime and how long the FaceTime calls will be. That is in addition to any other activity that uses cellular data on your phone. If you ever go to the US and use FaceTime, you'd want a plan with US data included unless using wifi.
Wifi is completely separate from any cell plan and unless you're using wifi on something like an airplane or cruise ship, you shouldn't have to pay per megabyte of data used.
