The EXACT same thing is happening to me! I’ve been too anxious too call, but a $10,000 debt popped up on my credit report a couple months ago, and I haven’t used Telus is years. Like probably close to a decade! I have no idea how or why I would have EVER racked up a $10,000 debt with Telus!! What is going on?!
A $3300 collections account showed up on my credit report as well one month ago.. I'm so sad about this because my credit was finally getting better, and this coming on my report and me not knowing anything about it, just makes the weight on my shoulders feel so much heavier.. I have already disputed the account with Transunion & I am praying they side with me. I am confused as to how this is even possible for someone to do this under my name... I already have an outstanding account with Telus from 2018, owing just $548. I didn't know I was even eligible to purchase anything with Telus without paying off this $548.. now it says around 3300 is owed from TELUS MOBILITY INC. My credit score was not the greatest but it was getting better, and this stained my report. Not knowing anything about it is such a nuisance either.. I'm wondering why Telus made it so easy for someone to use my name and open an account for services.
