14 day travel pass plus one day roaming pass

Has anyone purchased a 14 day travel roaming pass, and also a one day roaming pass during the same time period? I need to get the 14 day pass for a European vacation, but want to also use the one day pass as it covers a day/country that the 14 day pass doesn’t. Any thoughts on if this will work? Will the one day pass kick in when I’m in the country the 14 day pass doesn’t cover?

  • Ok I will do that. Thank you!

So to confirm… I claim my reward before I leave Canada (I will then get a unique code) and the day I want to use it, I text that code to 7626 and I will be active for the day?

If you're redeeming a code for a one day roaming pass, such as the ones available in our TELUS Rewards program, then yes!

When you mention the 'one day roaming pass', do you mean a 1 Day Roaming perk such as from our TELUS Rewards program? Where the one day's charge would be free? If so, then hold off on activating that until the day of. This all should be doable, but there is a specific order of operations so to speak, that you'll need to follow to ensure our billing system tags everything correctly.

Our billing system follows a sort of roaming priority, so if you have a 14 Day Roaming Pass activated on your account, the system will always look to 'use up' that coverage first. If/when you enter a country that isn't included in that pass, the system will then default to your next best available option. So, activate your 14 day pass first before you leave (you have 30 days from time of activation to use it), and then later on when you know you're about to cross the border into the country that your 14 day pass doesn't cover, text the unique promo code you should've received to 7626. This has to be done before using any data obviously, so if you can be on airplane mode or be sure that you're connected to Wi-Fi before you incur any data usage, then you should be good.

You should get a confirmation text back quickly saying that your free roaming perk has been activated until 11:59pm local time. Then when you get back into a country that's on the 14 day pass list, it'll just pick right back up where you left off.

Thank you, as that does make sense, but I think there is one issue.

I will buy the 14 day pass before I leave on vacation and will use it as normal in Europe. Before I arrive in the country that is not covered by the 14 day pass, you want me to text the unique promo code to 7626 while on airplane mode/wifi. Will 7626 accept an iMessage and send the confirmation back as an iMessage, as a regular sms text message only works on WiFi if you have WiFi calling on, which I don’t believe Telus supports outside Canada, unless I am mistaken.

Will you be able to connect to Wi-Fi somewhere in the new country?
