Scammed into signing up for home security system
Hello,
I was literally scammed by a Telus employee who called me in October 2024 about an offer for a FREE Telus Home Security system. The employee assured me this is an offer to Koodo customers and I would receive the security system for no charge (no monthly fee whatsoever). To my shock, I received a $200 bill from Telus. Upon further review, I noticed that I was signed for a 3 year contract with Telus for home security for a monthly charge, which I cannot cancel unless I pay a $300 cancellation fee. I never consented to signing up for this.
I called Telus yesterday and they said they would have a supervisor call me, but I never received a call back. I am extremely disappointed by Telus and I cannot believe I was scammed by an employee working for a reputable company.
Please have someone call me to discuss this.

I have similar experience where a rep called me and said that I can have Home Security added to my account for same price I was paying for other services. I even asked if there was catch and lady insisted that there is no catch. To my surprise I see a separate bill for home security which includes installation of $300 which is separate from my regular services. All the guy did was plugin a camera in my garage to an outlet and they gave me 2 smart plugs. I can purchase these items cheaper on Amazon. Been trying to get a hold of someone at Telus for 3 days without any luck. Do not get suckered into signing up for Home Security plan.
