Loss of 10Gb port when phone ups installed. Now no 3Gb for my use.
Telus just installed an ups for the phone, and I did not understand that I would lose my 3Gb service as a result. How can I get it back?

I now believe I should have installed my own ups like you. The ups which Telus installed does not plug in to a 110v outlet, but instead plugs into a Nokia box which has to be connected to the main Telus modem via the 10Gb line. Thus the 10Gb line is not available for internet use. I have ordered a APC UPS and after I install it then I have to get Telus to come back and reverse their install, freeing up the 10Gb line again. What a pain.

How would installing a UPS cause you to lose the 3Gb service? UPS is a battery backup so it should have no impact on any data that I could think of. What happened with the 10Gb port? Is it just not plugged in anymore?
I bought my own APC UPS that I use with my fibre gateway, and it works just fine with my phones over fibre. Hasn't impacted data or speed at all.
