Hello there, I previously had an internet account with Telus and received an initial email from General Credit Services advising that I had an overdue balance on my account, after it was closed. Upon receiving the initial email, I logged into my profile and paid off the outstanding balance on the closed account. Since paying off all the outstanding charges, I have continued to receive two additional emails from General Credit Services advising that I have an overdue balance, and the latest email advised I only have 7 days from now until they will report the matter to credit bureaus. Can someone from the Telus team help to inform General Credit Services that my now-closed account is in good standing and that they can stop emailing me?10Views0likes0Comments1.5gb fibre upgrade - no new ONT, NAH or WiFi6, I'm speedcapped
Short version - Upgraded to 1.5gb plan. Tech didn't replace Nokia ONT and plugged a Telus WiFi-5 Hub into Ethernet port in wall in other room, no WiFi6 boost. Isn't the Nokia ONT supposed to be replaced with a NAH or newer ONT that has a 10gb port? I'm paying for 1.5gb but all equipment given limits me to 1gb, so I'm losing 1/3 of what I'm paying for. Long version - upgraded from the 150mb plan to the 1.5gb plan. They said my Nokia G-240-G ONT and the T3200 weren't suitable for that speed and needed replacing. Tech was booked to come, never did, some subcontractor eventually did. He brought a Telus WiFi Hub, which is WiFi5, not the WiFi6 or 7 promised. He didn't add a Network Access Hub or replace the Nokia ONT with a newer one with a 10gb wan port, and ports are capped at 1gb for all devices. Speed tests over Ethernet on a bunch of different devices confirmed 940mps was the max because the Nokia ONT and WiFi Hub ports physically cannot exceed that. This feels like a scam and false advertising and I'm really fed up. I think I was supposed to get a new ONT/Network Access Hub and WiFi6 at least, if not 7? I've had very little success calling tech support (they're usually completely clueless) so I was hoping someone here could give me some answers to call them with. Thanks in advance :)68Views0likes1CommentDisappointed with Telus Cable and internet service
Joined Telus about 2 years now and like clockwork every weekend the cable and apps on Telus box buffers with error messages. One customer service rep said it was my brand of television but I never had this issue with Shaw. The fibre optics is just poor. It’s annoying to troubleshoot every time you turn on the television.314Views0likes9CommentsConnect to network access hub: external hard drive
I have a external hard drive connected to my router which have all my movies and TV shows on which I can access via samba share on my home network. Telus recently upgraded me to a network access hub and WiFi 7 booster, tried to connect my hard drive to the network access hub via the USB port just like I did before with my old router, and I login into the admin settings for the network access hub and It doesn't see the external hard drive in the samba share settings. Do you know what I'm doing wrong thanks330Views0likes9CommentsRJ11 Internet Wire
I'm one of those few people that lives in a condo without fibre installed. Instead, I have RJ11 telephone wire running from a modified phone jack to my digital box/modem. The length is about 12 feet long but I need to find something longer. The problem is that this RJ11 cable is two wire into the connector whereas ones you buy are 4 wire connectors. I've tried linking these two and the internet crashes. Does anyone know where you can get 25 foot lengths of RJ11 cable with 2 wire connectors?Solved127Views0likes3CommentsPossible missing equipment: can't set up fibre internet
Hi everyone, I'm having a problem setting up internet in my apartment. On August 29, I signed up for Telus Fibre internet; earlier this week, my equipment arrived. In the box was a Telus Boost Wi-Fi Lite. The problem is that I have no way of connecting this device. I followed the setup guide, but the first question it asked was whether I had a network access hub or a Wi-Fi jack. I have neither--just the jack where the fibre cable comes into the wall (see attached photo--it's the uppermost box). This, of course, won't accept the Ethernet cord that came with the Boost Wi-Fi Lite. I spoke to a customer service representative, who said it was possible that the apartment's previous tenant had taken away equipment they should have left in the apartment at the end of their tenancy. I'm certainly no internet expert, but it seems that the Boost Wi-Fi Lite doesn't work without at least some supplementary equipment (possibly a network access hub?), none of which is anywhere in my apartment. I had a support callback scheduled, but I never got it for some reason. I called today, and I spent several hours on hold before the system hung up on me, so I'm reaching out on here. I'll keep calling the support line, but if anyone here has any solutions, I would really appreciate it. I'm a student and need internet now that classes have started. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! FB117Views0likes1CommentA closed account causing a collection on my credit report
A collection agency is now coming after me for an account that I have closed and payed off. I closed my home internet service account back in Dec 2025, and have been using another provider since then. An email from Telus clearly shows that I have no remaining balance to pay as of Feb 2026. Another post I found on the forum seem to be a similar case: https://forum.telus.com/discussions/my_home_services_and_devices/collection-agencies-acrm--gcsi--gcs/178391 Currently, as I'm not in Canada, I cannot even contact customer service via the chat feature because I have no active account with Telus. If anyone have any clue of how to get in contact with Telus, please let me know. Or if someone from Telus support can help me with this case, it'd be even better.64Views0likes0CommentsInternet Backup feature - does it work?
Has anyone got Internet Backup to work? https://www.telus.com/en/internet/internet-backup We are currently in a 9+ day internet outage due to a fire damaging equipment on our street. Had a tech visit and also spent almost 3 hours on the phone with various Telus agents. They were not able to resolve. I downloaded the Telus Smart Home app and tried to configure Internet Backup but it says I have an incompatible router. I have a network hub and wifi 6 router. I read that should be able to configure even after the outage. I am guessing someone should be able to resolve, but not sure how to get in contact with them. Has anyone successfully configured and used this feature? Thanks374Views0likes7CommentsHow do I port forward?
