I had a horrible experience with the Telus. I had a 2 years contract with telus from Jan1st 2024 so it will be expiring on 31st Dec 2025. On 1st Jan 2025—when I moved into my current address, I upgraded my wifi speed from 1gb to 3gb. THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM HAPPENS. A staff who came to install the wifi said I’m elgible for Home Security System (a little camera) with no EXTRA charges. He said it will be available as a free offer till the end of my contract. I declined the offer since I didn’t need it but he insisted me to take the camera because it was a free offer. Later, they shipped a camera to my address. I checked what it was and put it back in their box. I didn’t use their so called home security system. Now, I’m going to move out from the current address and contacted to Telus to cancle all my services since the contract is ending on Dec 31st. And they said there is a cancellation fees for Home Security System and the service is from Dec 2024 - Dec 2027. For 3 years? I didn’t even ordered their home security service and they made a contract for 3 years. I was so confused because I only accepted it because a Telus staff said it was a part of my wifi plan and it was free till the end of my 2 years contract. I contacted to Home Security Department and they said I had to pay. That doesn’t even make sense. Now I have to pay something I didn’t even use it at all. I’m not going to pay for it and I need actions from Telus asap. Telus need to come clear with their complicated offers and train their staffs to make valid offers.54Views0likes3CommentsAccessibility issues with interactive word games on mobile networks?
Hi everyone, I’ve noticed that some browser-based word puzzles don’t always load consistently when switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data. For example, while trying an unlimited spelling game mode during short breaks, the page sometimes refreshes or drops progress on mobile. Is this usually related to network optimization, caching, or browser handling on carrier networks? I’m also curious if similar issues can affect other lightweight, interactive sites and what settings might help improve stability.18Views0likes1CommentGoogle Play Charges to my Telus Bill
Hello, I got a Google Pixel 3 watch when I renewed my mobility contract back in March 2025. In June 2025 I started getting random Google Play charges added to my Telus bill, apparently through my watch 'phone number'. I have never setup Google payments through Mobile Carriers on my Google account, transactions are always through my bank. I checked my Google transaction history, my payments and subscriptions, payment methods etc and these transations do not show up ANYWHERE! When I first contacted Telus they told me they could not tell which vendors the charges were from, but they were able to provide a corrolation ID for each purchase. I submitted a Unauthorized Charge Claim to Google and they came back with the automated message: 'After reviewing your claim, we were unable to confirm fraudulent activity in this case, so no refund will be provided by Google at this time. If you would like to pursue the matter further, you can reach out to your financial institution.' The problem with that response is, my bank can't help because these charges weren't through my bank. I then contacted Telus again via phone, and this time they were able to tell me the charges were for Snapchat, and Audible (I don't purchase anything through either of these apps). I asked for the corrolation ID's for the newer charges and the woman said she couldn't provide them. Yet when I contacted them again through live chat they were able to provide the IDs. I then submitted another claim and received the same response. To reiterate, these charges have not appeared anywhere else across my accounts; Google, Snapchat, Audible etc, they only show up on my Telus bills! I do not have Mobile Carrier set up as a payment method! The charges are now up to $32.15. I don't know what else I can do so I am hoping to see if anyone else has had a similar situation. Thanks for reading!102Views1like7CommentsTELUS Door to Door Salespeople Question
Hi, we had two salespeople - looking like they were in their early 20's, one male and one female - arrive at my door today (20th of October). I forgot to verify their IDs but they were selling a bundled Telus ADT phone/internet package that included home security. There have been some scams in the neighborhood and I wanted to make sure they were legitimate. Did you have two agents doing door-to-door sales today in the afternoon, in the streets surrounding Southworth Street in Welland, Ontario?96Views0likes1CommentImpossible to cancel mobility service
I have been trying to cancel a Telus mobility account for my 80 year old mother who no longer even lives in BC and I keep getting the run around. I have NEVER experienced anything as bad as Telus customer service. After two plus hours on the phone a month ago i was told that the account had been canceled, and i would receive an invoice for the balance owing on her phone. I understand that and was totally ready to pay that. However, upon looking at the bank account this week I saw that the monthly charge had come out again. I reached out to Telus to find out what happened, and when i finally got through they said they had "no record of the cancelation request." I then waited on hold again listening to the same terrible song, and then one rep finally "verified" the account. I was then told I would be put on a "very brief hold and then someone would be able to help me" A few minutes later the system said it was after hours and nobody was available and hung up on me. That happened twice this week and it was nowhere near after hours. I think it is a ploy by Telus to make it impossible to cancel. I have now reached out to the bank and put a stop payment on all Telus payments. If anyone is looking to start a class action lawsuit i am interested.121Views1like3CommentsTELEKOM LAW PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION scam?
Today I received this email from this company "TELEKOM LAW PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION". I am not sure if its scam/fake or real. I am extremely unhappy with receiving emails like this when I had clearly mentioned Telus about my situation and they said everything will be taken care of. Last month, I returned the products with Telus because I had this charge of $1,523.20. and once I successfully returned, the amount went down to $991.96. Later, I was talking to Johnathan (Telus rep), how I can pay it back, and he said instead of paying that amount, he could just give me a new plan and so he would replace that $991.96, with a new plan; suggesting its better to pay for some service instead of nothing. I confirmed 5 times with him if this was possible, and he said "yes", this was a recorded call and is part of my account notes. So I went ahead trusting him and said sure give me the new plan, which I got for 3 years paying $25 monthly, in-return he would erase the $991.96 that I owed to Telus. I was told that my account will be cleared from this charge. It has been recorded on call, and notes have been made under my account. Telus specifically told me about not to worry as they have taken this charge out of my account, and given me a new plan. Today I receive this email that makes me think customer is not being taken seriously. I want an immediately response in regards to this matter.253Views0likes1CommentPSA "Loyalty" Scam
Yesterday I received a call from Alberta 403-915-2871 claiming to be from "Telus Promotions" and telling me that because I am such a loyal customer that Telus has decided (magnanimously) to reduce my mobility bill by 30% and to use my rewards to gift me with my choice of an iPad or a Samsung smartwatch. This amazing gift will be sent to me, at no charge! Sneaky scammers - asked me to confirm my postal code, which gives them my street address, and then to confirm the house number. This is how they get your address while you think they had it all along. They also asked for my Telus PIN and email. When he transferred me to a "supervisor" the connection was extremely bad (bad internet in India?) so he called me back, this time from Ontario using 365-226-6304. This person repeated the same stuff and confirmed the same information. Today I got yet another call, this time from British Columbia (778-557-2619). I told him flat out that I know it's a scam and to drop it. We'll see if the persistent creep calls back again, and from where. When something seems to good to be true, it usually is. I have changed my password and PIN (using random generators), activated 2FA on my Telus accounts, and contacted Telus directly.156Views0likes1CommentIs the number +18338960450 a legit telus customer service/ sales phone number
