I keep getting phishing emails and texts that say I'm about to be disconnected because of unpaid balance (not true). The emails look realistic and the sender even appears verified, but all the links, supposed owed amounts, and account numbers are fake. TELUS team: I can't find an email to contact customer support but please reach out so I can forward this to you with more details. This has been happening for many months and they have my email and phone number somehow.45Views0likes1CommentFree Telus Camera
Two weeks ago I called Telus to move my account to a new address and arrange a tech install. The Telus representative on the phone said they were going to send me a "free camera", they never mentioned a cost or it being for a security system. I straight up told him that I have my on security system and they said no problem, it's free anyway. I've had issues with my Telus internet and current value of my plan, so I called back today. I was just told that I am paying $18/month for a home security plan for a camera that I have no intentions in ever using. Spoke to their Loyalty team and they said they would reduce my bill, but it sounds like they are keeping a reduced payment for the security camera, but overall i get a better deal then if I remove it. Something still feels wrong. I don't want to be charged for a piece of hardware I will never use and I don't want to have Telus home security on my plan. Is Telus taking a look into their own practices here? This seems highly unethical. I've had to spend 3hrs on the phone and I may need to drive to a Telus center to drop off hardware. How come a Telus rep can easily send you a "Free Camera" and sign you up with a service but it's extremely difficult to remove that service? This treatment is enough for me to remove fiber and move to another provider all together.140Views0likes1CommentPossible Scam Call
Yesterday I received a call from Alberta 403-915-2871 claiming to be from "Telus Promotions" and telling me that because I am such a loyal customer that Telus has decided (magnanimously) to reduce my mobility bill by 30% and to use my rewards to gift me with my choice of an iPad or a Samsung smartwatch. This amazing gift will be sent to me, at no charge! Sneaky scammers - asked me to confirm my postal code, which gives them my street address, and then to confirm the house number. This is how they get your address while you think they had it all along. They also asked for my Telus PIN and email. When he transferred me to a "supervisor" the connection was extremely bad (bad internet in India?) so he called me back, this time from Ontario using 365-226-6304. This person repeated the same stuff and confirmed the same information. Today I got yet another call, this time from British Columbia (778-557-2619). I told him flat out that I know it's a scam and to drop it. We'll see if the persistent creep calls back again, and from where. When something seems to good to be true, it usually is. I have changed my password and PIN (using random generators), activated 2FA on my Telus accounts, and contacted Telus directly.416Views0likes1CommentBusuu Subscription?? What is that?
This situation reflects very poorly on TELUS and its billing/security systems. I was charged for Busuu/Google Play services on my TELUS bill even though I have never downloaded the app, never subscribed to it, and had never even heard of it before this charge appeared. I checked my Google Play account, subscriptions, installed apps, and payment history; there is absolutely no record of Busuu anywhere. What made this even more frustrating was TELUS customer service refusing to take responsibility and pushing me to contact Busuu instead, despite the charges appearing directly on my TELUS bill. If TELUS allows third-party companies to bill customers through their accounts, then TELUS should also be responsible for properly verifying and securing those charges. After looking online, I found multiple TELUS customers reporting the exact same issue involving unauthorized Google Play charges. This clearly does not look like an isolated incident and raises serious concerns about TELUS’s security and billing practices.578Views0likes1CommentGoogle Play Charges to my Telus Bill
Hello, I got a Google Pixel 3 watch when I renewed my mobility contract back in March 2025. In June 2025 I started getting random Google Play charges added to my Telus bill, apparently through my watch 'phone number'. I have never setup Google payments through Mobile Carriers on my Google account, transactions are always through my bank. I checked my Google transaction history, my payments and subscriptions, payment methods etc and these transations do not show up ANYWHERE! When I first contacted Telus they told me they could not tell which vendors the charges were from, but they were able to provide a corrolation ID for each purchase. I submitted a Unauthorized Charge Claim to Google and they came back with the automated message: 'After reviewing your claim, we were unable to confirm fraudulent activity in this case, so no refund will be provided by Google at this time. If you would like to pursue the matter further, you can reach out to your financial institution.' The problem with that response is, my bank can't help because these charges weren't through my bank. I then contacted Telus again via phone, and this time they were able to tell me the charges were for Snapchat, and Audible (I don't purchase anything through either of these apps). I asked for the corrolation ID's for the newer charges and the woman said she couldn't provide them. Yet when I contacted them again through live chat they were able to provide the IDs. I then submitted another claim and received the same response. To reiterate, these charges have not appeared anywhere else across my accounts; Google, Snapchat, Audible etc, they only show up on my Telus bills! I do not have Mobile Carrier set up as a payment method! The charges are now up to $32.15. I don't know what else I can do so I am hoping to see if anyone else has had a similar situation. Thanks for reading!1.1KViews1like21CommentsTELEKOM LAW PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION
Today I received this email from this company "TELEKOM LAW PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION". I am not sure if its scam/fake or real. I am extremely unhappy with receiving emails like this when I had clearly mentioned Telus about my situation and they said everything will be taken care of. Last month, I returned the products with Telus because I had this charge of $1,523.20. and once I successfully returned, the amount went down to $991.96. Later, I was talking to Johnathan (Telus rep), how I can pay it back, and he said instead of paying that amount, he could just give me a new plan and so he would replace that $991.96, with a new plan; suggesting its better to pay for some service instead of nothing. I confirmed 5 times with him if this was possible, and he said "yes", this was a recorded call and is part of my account notes. So I went ahead trusting him and said sure give me the new plan, which I got for 3 years paying $25 monthly, in-return he would erase the $991.96 that I owed to Telus. I was told that my account will be cleared from this charge. It has been recorded on call, and notes have been made under my account. Telus specifically told me about not to worry as they have taken this charge out of my account, and given me a new plan. Today I receive this email that makes me think customer is not being taken seriously. I want an immediately response in regards to this matter.377Views0likes1CommentDoor to Door Agent Issue
I just got signed up by a representative named “Michael” (I don’t even know if that’s his real name) in Brampton, ON last night at 9pm? He was going door to door apparently and he knew I was in a rush to go somewhere but what can I do as I wanted to change services for my Internet and phone. He offered me a bundle of $134/mo for my phone for 200GB of data + 1000min of long distance call and text, and internet and as well as said that activation fees were waived for both (I haven’t seen the bill yet but let’s see). I still had credit with Rogers and he said that he would give me a credit to pay Rogers off but I am a bit skeptical. He also offered that these plans were both no contract and can cancel anytime. I see my account the day of to see that my Internet will be $110/mo with a 2yr contract and my phone to be $80/mo with 150GB and no add on whatsoever!!! This brings my total to $190 without tax yet! I messaged Telus through the app and all the representatives are saying that “they apologize for the misinformation and inconvenience” but my plans were both $190/mo on a 24mo contract. SCAM! He said that there was a recording of our conversation when he called me from his Telus iPad and he even asked to take a photo w me so that’s really awkward??? I wanted to upgrade my phone with Telus but how can I now when he offered me $45/mo on my phone bill but it’s actually $80!! Who can afford this much? Telus why?? Why do you do this to your customers!3.3KViews0likes3CommentsCharged against unused service
I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I've been charged for mobility services that I never used — the line was inactive/unused, yet the charges still appeared on my bill. I've already tried contacting TELUS support but haven't had a resolution yet. Has anyone else dealt with this situation? How did you get it sorted out? Any help is truly appreciated. I just want this corrected fairly. 🙏101Views0likes1CommentRoaming charges even roaming is turned off
I was in the flight with my roaming turned off airplane mode on. I got charged by Telus for roaming! It was definitely not the case that my roaming was on and I forgot to turn it off. I suspect My Telus app on my phone uses data while you are traveling abroad and charges you for the roaming! My requests to Telus Support to clarify and remove these charges fell on deaf ears!217Views0likes2CommentsTelus Security Contractor Phoned to Upgrade System
A week or so ago a Telus contractor contacted me by phone to set up an appointment to upgrade our security system hardware. He asked if we had received a letter from Telus informing of the need to upgrade our system - we had not. The representative then went on to describe the system & hardware we had so he clearly had access to our account. I told him that we don't do business from unsolicited phone calls and he said that he/Telus would send us an email outlining the upgrades and how to set up an appointment. No email or letter was ever received. I believe this was some service 'trolling' being done by a Telus Security contractor and that the 'upgrade' really wasn't required by Telus. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Telus - please reassure us that your contractor policies do not allow such behaviour.834Views0likes6Comments
