When the technician came to set up our Fiber Internet and Optic TV, we were told that if we needed help getting our TV set up, there would be a $100 charge. We were told explicitly when we ordered the services that there would be NO CHARGE for anything regarding installation or setup. This has already left a VERY BAD FIRST IMPRESSION where we feel as though a clear "bait and switch" is happening designed to take advantage of people who are not tech savvy or worried that they will have problems setting up their TV service.8Views0likes0CommentsTelus TV mini - such a downgrade
Had our 3 old Telus Optik boxes replaced with the minis. What a downgrade: The feed often freezes or just goes blank, particularly when pausing live TV Periodic notifications that the remote has "disconnected" and the whole system becomes non-responsive Severe lag when using the skip forward or backward feature - just feels unstable Cannot extend recordings beyond the pre-determined time (make recording sporting events almost useless) Any suggestions for work arounds - or can we just request that our old (but functional) boxes get returned?1.8KViews2likes47CommentsYour television cannot support HDCP (H1001)
I turned on my Sony TV today and I received the following flashing warning: Your television cannot support HDCP video over your high definition connection (H1001) This has happened a couple of times recently and a reboot of PVR brings it back to "normal". Obviously this solution is only temporary! Nothing has changed. The TV router connection is still the same CAT connection. CAT6 (shielded), in conduit, from the TV wall plate to the router wall plate. CAT6 (shielded) from the wall plate to the router CAT7 from the wall plate to the TV The HDMI cable is the same Reboot of the PVR brings things back but I'm getting tired of this! PVR (VIP5662W) was replaced earlier this year! Thoughts/help appreciated! Rick403Views0likes25CommentsDisappointed with Telus Cable and internet service
Joined Telus about 2 years now and like clockwork every weekend the cable and apps on Telus box buffers with error messages. One customer service rep said it was my brand of television but I never had this issue with Shaw. The fibre optics is just poor. It’s annoying to troubleshoot every time you turn on the television.220Views0likes9CommentsTelus Ch. 965 Inultra schedule issues
I recently noted that I have access to Telus channel 965, Inultra. Looking at the schedule, there seem to be some programs worth recording. I set for four of them, according to the schedule, and got completely different programs. Looking at the channel 965 schedule, I can see no correlation at all to what is actually shown. Not just the times, but the actual programs! I ended up recording programs on flying drones, which do not appear in the schedule anytime on any day. I was looking for the program 'Breakthrough' which is on the schedule but not on the actual channel. Can Telus please confirm that the Telus guide schedule for Ch. 965 is actually correct? Thank you.220Views0likes5CommentsUsing a VIP5602W wirelessly
Hey everyone, I want to use my VIP5602W wirelessly (currently it's hardwired in) but I need to know what hardware I need to request. I currently have a NH20A the runs my pvr and VIP hardwired, and then I have an aftermarket router handling all my internal Internet and Wi-Fi. Sounds like I need Telus to send me a booster of some sort to plug into my NH20A to generate wifi for my VIP5602W. Can anyone out there verify if that's correct? Thanks in advance Daniel137Views0likes5CommentsTELUS TV has a mind of its own
Beyond the fact that TV programming has become mundane and the addition of these ridiculous one show channels are useless, the biggest thing that has me wanting to cancel TELUS TV is that their hardware has a mind of it’s own. The box powers down on its own even after just a few minutes of use. Now it changes to previously viewed channels on its own and today it interrupted my viewing by randomly opening YouTube, unprompted. It can sometimes take several minutes to have the TV turn on or the channel guide to populate. This is on GB Pure Fibre (though I’m paying for that speed I only get 400 up/down). At this point I am ready to cancel and pay the cancellation fee. It’s a huge cost for such horrible service. I can get everything I need from CBC Gem and other apps for a fraction of the cost without having to endure using a faulty product.103Views1like1Comment
