Hello. I have had Optik TV for over 2 years, with Telus Pure fibre 1gig internet. I use the newer style smaller cloud based TV box, connected via wifi. In the first 2 years I had optik TV I had Disney+ and it worked fine without issue. During that time, we cancelled it to cut down on costs. I renewed for another 2 years with Telus, and part of our new plan covers the cost of Disney+. Since I have restarted my Disney+ subscription, I find it lags durning playback. It’s very jittery. I also use Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, and Crave. None of the other apps have an issue. Live TV also seems to be fine. It’s just Disney+ that has this issue. I tried to uninstall and re-install the app, but the Telus Optik box won’t allow it to be deleted completely. It allows me to uninstall updates, which I did, and then re-installed them, and still had the same issue. I’ve lowered the playback quality settings on the app, and still it jitters. I was trying to watch a movie today and it was almost unwatchable. Has anyone else had this problem specifically with Disney+ on the Telus box. I hear the upgrade is terrible so I would like to keep my old bulky box, I put the order in for an upgrade today and the box is supposed to be shipped on Friday, but I would like to cancel this order. Same problem this morning "CNBC channel 806 showing CNBC World instead of Squawk Box". I submitted a ticket yesterday (10464585), was told I would get a follow-up email from support, never received it. I am paying an added fee for this channel and its not working, Roger's is so its a TELUS issue. Dec 16/25: The channel doesn't match the guide listing. Technician came over and installed everything, security and all that optik box thing. I recieved and email to activate prime, netflix, and disney. Clicked on that green link, it goes to the optik tv page, but theres no activate link or button. I was able to activate netflix because netflix sent me a message from their end. Ive spent 2 hours waiting on the phone and 2 hours of troubleshooting with a tech but she couldnt figure out whats goin on. Any idea what to do,? I just upgraded from my old PVR Telus box to the new Android TV box. I have had this for just over two weeks. Today when I got home from work I went into my recordings and had every eposode from this season of several shows I added. For example I had every episode from this season of Elsbeth (and several from last season) - and the dates went all the way back to to when the epsiode originally aired - it said it recorded episode 1 on October 12th - weeks and weeks before I had my digital box? I cleared out all those, and now tonight it started to record Matlock...twice...at the same time. It said one was being recorded off channel 255, and one had no channel listed. If I look at what is scheduled to be recorded I can see the same thing, but not on all my recordings, only certain ones. On Saturday it is going to record SNL twice at the same time, once it shows the channel 260, and the duplicate had no channel. I received an email saying that I qualified to update my Telus digital box. I thought oh great filled out the form and hit send me new boxes with the warning the old boxes will stop working two weeks from shipping date. They arrived quickly next day by Purolator. I hooked up one of the boxes and started browsing and quickly noticed changes that I am not fond of. No channel preview in the guide just a picture, so you can't see if you are switching in to a commercial Channel information in the guide used to show actors and year show/ movie was made/aired. Now it just shows a brief description. Search used to be able to search live TV and demand for easy series record. Now it just shows on demand. Record now only stores for 90 days. None of my recorded stuff switched over (which I did see that it said it might not but I figured I would cross my fingers and hold my breath) I also had Christmas movies saved for years for easy holiday watching. Overall I think the boxes are a huge downgrade and if your current box is working properly don't bother with the upgrade.679Views4likes2Comments
