Hey everyone! Hope you're doing well and enjoying the new year! February is right around the corner, and another month means another new batch of great movies and shows to check out on Optik TV! Let's take a look at some of the highly anticipated titles streaming in February as well as what I'm hooked on now! Coming in February February 5 - The Lincoln Lawyer (Season 4) - Netflix The return of Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as the iconic lawyer, back to tackle another thrilling case in this smash hit based on the series of novels. February 19 - The Night Agent (Season 3) - Netflix FBI agent Peter Sutherland returns in another season of the hit political thriller series. Most Anticipated The Lincoln Lawyer (Season 4) - Netflix Based on the bestselling novel series by Michael Connelly (also responsible for the fantastic 'Bosch' books/series), The Lincoln Lawyer is back. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo returns as Mickey Haller, Los Angeles' most dedicated defense attorney. Trouble seems to find Mickey in every season, and things seem no different this time around. After the shocking finale of Season 3 (no spoilers!) there's more than ever at stake now that Mickey himself is the client. With his reputation, and his very life, on the line, he'll need to do everything he can to prevail in the end. I'm a huge fan of this series. The writing is quick, the acting sharp, and there's enough cliffhangers in almost every episode to keep you coming back for more. Garcia-Rulfo definitely shines as the titular character, with a great supporting cast that's both well-rounded and hilarious. If you're a fan of political or courtroom thrillers, The Lincoln Lawyer is for you. All three seasons are streaming now so you have time to catch up before the new season drops February 5 only on Netflix! What I'm Watching Now Fallout (Season 2) - Prime Video I'm so pumped that Fallout is back! The megahit post-apocalyptic series based on the worldwide phenomenon video game series has returned for an action-packed second season! In this story, there are the haves and have-nots. Set about 200 years after the 'end of the world' bombs dropped, the denizens of a series of luxury fallout shelters underground are forced to return topside into a world full of radiation, mutated creatures, raiders, and countless other dangers. This series centers around Lucy MacLean, a citizen of Vault 33 as she returns to the surface chasing after her father, who has a lot of things to answer for after the nuclear decimation of the planet. She partners unwittingly with Cooper Howard, a former actor who has since mutated into a ghoul, making his way as a gunslinger and bounty hunter. While fans of the video games will undoubtedly love the series, there's a lot to love for the uninitiated. If you're a fan of over-the-top humor and action, combined with a star-studded cast and fantastic special effects, you're sure to love Fallout. I have multiple times opened settings, turned on closed captions, opened display settings and set caption preferences the way I would like: small font, 25% opacity on background. The example shown in settings would be perfect, IF the settings were applied when returning to live TV. Default of large font, white font on opaque black background interferes with decent program viewing. How to get the captions settings as set to apply to live TV? Is this a feature still under development? If so when will this be rolled out? Hi, If you don't specifically exit from the Telus TV app from the Settings menu, (you turn off the Firestick or it goes to sleep) then the next time the Telus TV app is launched (next day) it doesn't properly load by going to the "Who is watching" screen, it loads to where it was, freezes for a while, jumps to the "Who is watching" screen and then suddenly exits the app completely. Only then can you start the app properly anew. Is there a way to fix this? It is quite annoying, since exiting from apps on firetv is usually done by the back button, but that doesn't work on Telus TV app (unless they added an exit from app popup like the Silk Browser app I suppose). I received an email saying that I qualified to update my Telus digital box. I thought oh great filled out the form and hit send me new boxes with the warning the old boxes will stop working two weeks from shipping date. They arrived quickly next day by Purolator. I hooked up one of the boxes and started browsing and quickly noticed changes that I am not fond of. No channel preview in the guide just a picture, so you can't see if you are switching in to a commercial Channel information in the guide used to show actors and year show/ movie was made/aired. Now it just shows a brief description. Search used to be able to search live TV and demand for easy series record. Now it just shows on demand. Record now only stores for 90 days. None of my recorded stuff switched over (which I did see that it said it might not but I figured I would cross my fingers and hold my breath) I also had Christmas movies saved for years for easy holiday watching. I haven't found a way to only record a series for the Edmonton Oilers hockey games. Its appears that its recording all hockey games for that particular day that the Edmonton Oilers are playing. We got a great deal from Telus for our home service renewal - kudos to customer loyalty. However, we are over 5 weeks past renewal and over 12 hours of Tech support calls plus numerous chats and emails and being charged personally to sign up personally to Disney - and Telus still CANNOT fix the subscription issue. I just spent over 2 hours in another hold and wait call - only to have the agent put me on hold and then disconnected the call and not call back!! Horrified by Telus support. I am 10 months into my 2-year contract for Telus PureFiber 250 and Optik TV. I moved to a new apartment where Telus PureFiber is not available, otherwise I was planning to move my account to the new location. But Telus is now charging me almost $400 for the remaining 14months on my contract. I tried calling customer support and they could not do anything. I work from home and need fiber internet. I honestly cannot afford to pay this amount at the moment and I don't understand why Telus is charging me when their services are not available at the location. How is this my fault? Hello. I have had Optik TV for over 2 years, with Telus Pure fibre 1gig internet. I use the newer style smaller cloud based TV box, connected via wifi. In the first 2 years I had optik TV I had Disney+ and it worked fine without issue. During that time, we cancelled it to cut down on costs. I renewed for another 2 years with Telus, and part of our new plan covers the cost of Disney+. Since I have restarted my Disney+ subscription, I find it lags durning playback. It’s very jittery. I also use Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, and Crave. None of the other apps have an issue. Live TV also seems to be fine. It’s just Disney+ that has this issue. I tried to uninstall and re-install the app, but the Telus Optik box won’t allow it to be deleted completely. It allows me to uninstall updates, which I did, and then re-installed them, and still had the same issue. I’ve lowered the playback quality settings on the app, and still it jitters. I was trying to watch a movie today and it was almost unwatchable. Has anyone else had this problem specifically with Disney+ on the Telus box. I just upgraded from my old PVR Telus box to the new Android TV box. I have had this for just over two weeks. Today when I got home from work I went into my recordings and had every eposode from this season of several shows I added. For example I had every episode from this season of Elsbeth (and several from last season) - and the dates went all the way back to to when the epsiode originally aired - it said it recorded episode 1 on October 12th - weeks and weeks before I had my digital box? I cleared out all those, and now tonight it started to record Matlock...twice...at the same time. It said one was being recorded off channel 255, and one had no channel listed. If I look at what is scheduled to be recorded I can see the same thing, but not on all my recordings, only certain ones. On Saturday it is going to record SNL twice at the same time, once it shows the channel 260, and the duplicate had no channel. Any clue why this happening, and how to fix it.267Views1like8Comments
