I got upgraded to new Telus setup with NAH and Wifi Boost 7 booster. Everything is working great except that my 2nd Wifi boost 7 wont work. Its connecting fine and forms a mesh network with the Primary but none of my wireless devices will connect to it. I have tried multiple ways of connecting: Primary-boost and Secondary-boost connected to NAH. Both boost-7 are green and show excellent connectivity and zero issues. Primary-boost connected to NAH and Secondary-boost connected to Primary-boost 2.5G port. Both are green and show excellent connectivity and zero issues. However, none of my laptops, phones, tablets, other IOT devices will connect to the secondary-boost. I called Telus and this is what i am told Telus has upgraded their systems which does not allow them to add a 2nd boost-7 devices for their customers anymore. so if the customer has 2x Telus-Wifi-Boost-7 and even if they form a mesh network and are green, the 2nd one wont work. Customers are now being pushed to use Telus Wifi Plus to get better coverage and pay $10/month for that service. Very disappointed in this. See screenshot of my connectivity below.189Views0likes7CommentsTelus Wifi Boost 7 - Can't Change SSID/Password without settings reverting
Hi All, I just upgraded to the 3G XGSPON plan and was provided an NH20A and a Telus Wifi Boost 7. Everything works, but I want to change the SSID and password to my old network so all of my old devices auto connect. I am connecting to it through the web GUI, and whenever I change the SSID and password, it changes and all of my old devices connect. However, if I go back to the web GUI or the Telus Connect app, it shows the default SSID. Any changes I then make in the web GUI reverts the SSID back to the default settings. A power cycle also resets everything back to default settings. If I try and change the SSID/Password in the Telus Connect app, it immediately says "Unable to change Wifi-Name, Please try again". Enabling the Guest network and changing the guest network SSID/Password works and the settings persist. Note that I am using another router on the 10G port and bridging only that port. I want to use the Telus boost 7 purely for IOT devices on the 2.4ghz channel, but I can't even disable 5ghz/6ghz as no settings are being applied. Thanks in advance!52Views0likes1CommentTELUS Boost Wi-Fi 7 Buggy?
I recently upgraded to PureFibre 3G and needed a couple of TELUS Boost Wi-Fi 7 in my setup. The goal of the secondary Boost 7 is to replace my old Netgear router, which created a secondary Wifi network to manage the signal conflicts I previously had. I was hoping to just renamed the SSID to my old and all should be working as previously (in theory). The main Boost 7 worked as expected, but setting up the additional one was not intuitive as the "magic" of auto-configuration for meshing does not work and there is no visible WiFi signal. I ended up searching the Boost IP address by logging into the NAH and once in, I was NOT able to see the general settings around "SSID" (or anything else that I could possibly configure for that matter). I tried the alternative method of using the TELUS Connect or Smarthome+, but neither of them had a option or visibility into the Boost 7. It's all very confusing as what I search in Google or in this Neighborhood seems to be inconsistent. Has anyone else solved this or are you all in the same boat? At this point, I may have to purchase a new router instead and go back to my original setup...940Views0likes4CommentsWi-Fi Booster 7 x Connect app
Hi everyone, I recently moved and was upgraded from a TELUS Wi-Fi Booster 6 to a Wi-Fi Booster 7. The Booster 7 is connected and working (solid green light, Wi-Fi is stable), but it does not appear at all in the TELUS MyConnect app. The app only shows the old Booster 6. This is an issue because I want to use my old Booster 6 as a secondary node to extend coverage upstairs. TELUS instructions say boosters should form a mesh once added in the app, but I can’t add the Booster 7 at all. The QR code won’t scan, and manual setup just searches and fails to find the device. I managed to add the Booster 6, but it shows a red light and no internet connection, likely because the Booster 7 isn’t recognized. I’ve tried multiple restarts, factory resets, and setting up the Booster 6 with and without Ethernet cable connected, no luck. Has anyone successfully added a Wi-Fi Booster 7 to the Connect app? Is Booster 7 currently unsupported or incompatible? Is there a workaround to create a mesh with Booster 7 + Booster 6? Thanks in advance!373Views0likes1CommentUnable to see WiFi Boost 6 in Telus Connect app
I tried reinstalling the app, rebooting both the modem & router, and connecting the two directly two each other, but no luck. I contacted Telus support and spoke with a CSR, but never heard back. Anyone else encounter this issue? Any fixes?405Views0likes9CommentsAdmin Gateway Portal Password issues.
Has anyone had an issue where even after resetting the Router using the pinhole to reset their Router been unable to log into the Gateway portal? I'm trying to access 192.168.1.254 When I try using my admin credentials there it says incorrect password. I reset it, using the default password on the router + New password Says default password is incorrect. However when i attempt to log into boost 2.0 at 192.168.1.65 using the same credentials it works fine, the only issue is that the page is so broken that it asks you to reset the password, and then logs you out no matter which option you choose. OH and to make matters even more confusing when i try to the option to reset the password (After im logged in) it says the default password is incorrect? I'm not sure what telus has done to their router gateway portal, but it's such a trash system now that this alone is making me want to switch ISP's177Views0likes2CommentsHow do I order a wifi pod?
I've tried messenger - they directed me to customer service. I've tried chat - unable to help me. I've been on hold / passed from department to department for coming up on 2 hours. I just want to add wifi extenders / pods to my service. Shouldn't be that difficult.159Views0likes3CommentsSetup Boost Wifi 6 Lite as an access point to extend existing LAN?
Hey all, got fibre installed 10 days ago and finally getting to cleaning up what the tech left me with. He was great, but custom lan setups aren't his job. Currently my NAH connects to my router (Asus RT-AC86U) that is aptly handling all my family's routing needs, including 2 Telus TV Digital Boxes over ethernet. Documentation (online or otherwise) is quite light as I suspect Telus wants it to be the centre of the universe and not really tinkered with by most users. Can I just factory reset it, connect it to a Lan port on my existing router, and it will figure out that I want it to be another AP to extend my existing SSIDs? ThanksSolved491Views0likes1Comment
