I recently discovered that a TELUS account I made multiple attempts to cancel was sent to collections and reported on my credit file. TELUS had already refunded incorrect charges and assured me the problem was fixed. Yet here we are. Looking through this forum, I found other customers describing similar issues: cancelled accounts still being billed, charges on old accounts, and collections despite accounts showing zero balances. This is serious. An inaccurate collection entry can affect credit scores, mortgage approvals and borrowing costs. Yet customers are left to discover the problem, spend hours chasing corrections and dispute the damage themselves. I find it deeply unfair that a corporation as large as TELUS can face repeated complaints while individual consumers carry the burden and risk. When customers miss payments, there are consequences. What accountability exists when a company’s errors harm customers’ credit? I’d like TELUS to explain: What is being done to prevent these errors? How are inaccurate collections removed from credit reports, not just marked paid? What compensation or remedies are available to affected customers? Do repeated complaints warrant regulatory scrutiny or collective legal action? I expect TELUS to investigate my account, reverse invalid charges, withdraw the collection and correct any inaccurate credit reporting. Has anyone else experienced this? Was your credit report corrected, and were you offered compensation?51Views0likes1CommentTelus balance sent to collections?
Has anyone else had a Telus balance sent to collections without ever being contacted about it? I recently noticed that my TransUnion credit score dropped by about 100 points, from roughly 860 to 760. I've never missed a payment on anything. When I checked my report, I found a collection for only $115 from a collection agency, with TELUS listed as the original creditor. The strange part is that I've been a telus customer continuously for at least 10-12 years and I've lived at the same address for the last six years, and my current Telus account is in good standing with a $0 balance with autowithdrawal enabled. As far as I'm aware, Telus never contacted me about an outstanding balance. I didn't receive a bill, email, phone call, or any indication that I owed $115. I also don't recall ever being contacted by the collection agency. If someone had simply told me I owed $115 I would have paid it. I've started a dispute with TransUnion because I don't recognize the debt, but I'm trying to understand how this could happen. If I genuinely owed $115, why wouldn't it have appeared on my existing account, or why wouldn't TELUS have contacted me before sending it to collections? They have my current account and contact information and I've remained an active customer the entire time. So now I'm so bummed because my near perfect credit score has been wrecked from this charge for a hundred bucks. Has anyone else had something similar happen with TELUS? If so, were you able to find out where the balance came from and get the collection removed from your credit report?195Views1like7Commentsbilling issue
I have been emailing mailto:[email protected] for weeks and have received no response. I have been to the Telus website trying to find the form to submit so that a ticket can be created but the links go around in circles. The AI chat only gives me replies related to connection issues. Can I please just send an email to someone to explain the billing issue and have it resolved? Why do you make this so hard?? The claim to resolve issues within 7 days is completely false. I visited the US last month and was charged roaming fees despite having a Canada-US Plan. I called to ask them to remove the charge and was told my plan does not include data coverage in the US, but as an exception, they will remove the charge and apply it as a credit to my next bill. I had the same problem 3 months ago and was told that with a Canada-US Plan, I shouldn't have been charged roaming fees, and they credited the charge immediately. I do not want to be charged every time I visit the US and have to go through calling an agent and posting on the forum. Can I be directed to someone who can fix this issue?110Views0likes1CommentHow Do We Get Better Cell Coverage in My Area?
I live in a country residential area in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island and we have horrendous cellular service. Like, zero bars of service. In my area, we need to either use “calling over wifi” to make a cell phone call, or drive 15 minutes into town and sit in the parking lot of the grocery store to make or receive a call. Wifi calling does not always work and when it doesn’t, I cannot make or receive phone calls. This is not only a convenience problem, this is an economic problem - because I work out of my home. But most important of all, this is a safety issue: if an emergency occurs and I need to call 911, chances are my cell phone will not work and I will not be able to contact emergency services. How do we go about getting more cell towers in my area to improve cell coverage? Not having reliable, effective and consistent cellular telephone service is a serious issue.Solved146Views0likes2CommentsLooking to access my billing history for an account that was closed 8 months ago.
I am looking to get records for an account that was closed 8 months ago after I moved was given another Telus account. I'm a new Telus customer and I've been having technical issues with getting one of my phone numbers ported. The account specialist keeps telling me to wait or that it's being worked on or that I should be receiving a text notification for the porting. I did not see this issue make any progress. I thought I'd try deleting the eSIM and recreating it on MyTelus, but I ran into more issues and couldn't create a new eSIM. It's been half a month and frustrating to see that my first monthly bill is more than double the amount I should be paying and I can't use one of the phone lines...194Views0likes3Comments
