Delete / Block YouTube

There should be an option on our Telus account to add a pin or remove certain TV apps as necessary. As a parent, I do not wish for my child to be able to access YouTube on the TV. I have blocked the channel, but they can still get through the apps section. It makes no sense!I have blocked the channel, but they can still get through the apps section. It makes no sense!

We will switch back to Shaw if this isn’t rectified As they have an option for parental controls.

Did you add a parental control 4 digit pin in settings. If yes and that did not stop choosing youtube?

I found the solution.  

Go into your profile on the Optik TV YouTube app.

Go to settings.

Enter in a parental code.

Then go back to the profiles screen and add a kids profile.  You will need to set it up and then go into your app on your phone and computer and set up that they cannot search etc.

Then exit YouTube on the TV.

Go back in, your kids account should be there.  I named our Kids account Kids.

They can only click on that and they do not have the search function.  It's going to get very boring very quickly.

Then if they want to switch profiles, they would need to know the code, which they don't.
