Does the TELUS Wi-Fi 7 router support Matter over Thread, and how can it be set up?
I tried to search for settings to enable Thread but could not find any. Has someone able to connect Matter devices to the Telus wifi7 router ?

I am running open thread border of router on home assistant and I am running into the same problem, having tried all the software and router configuration suggestions I can find in online communities. The problem seems to come down to the inability to enable multicast settings on the router, which Telus has hidden as a provisioning precaution for the Optic TV service. As I am not an optic TV user, is there a different router that Telus could supply me with?
One router configuration I've not yet fully tested is to use the smart device network segment on the Telus router. I've tried enabling this but I'm unable to join that network on my provisioning device as it remains hidden from Wi-Fi detection, and I cannot seem to add it to my device manually.
Thanks

If you’re not using Optik TV and want more control over your local network, your best option is typically to use your own router that supports Matter/Thread and put the TELUS modem/gateway into bridge mode, so your own router handles all routing and advanced features.

At this time, there are no user-accessible settings on the TELUS Wi-Fi 7 gateway for enabling Thread or directly connecting Matter devices through Thread. The current firmware does not expose Thread support in the router UI, and Matter over Thread isn’t supported on the TELUS Wi-Fi 7 gateway. If your Matter device supports Wi-Fi provisioning, you can still connect it to your Wi-Fi network as usual. For Thread-based mesh support (via a Border Router), you would need a separate certified Thread Border Router (for example, a supported smart home hub or dedicated device that advertises Thread connectivity).
