There are a few possible reasons for this problem and some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check Compatibility: Even though the panel and devices are both from Telus, ensure that the specific PowerG devices you're trying to add are listed as supported for the IQ4 panel. You can verify this through Telus support or the device documentation. https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/smarthome-security-compatible-devices
Verify PowerG Daughter Card Installation: Make sure the PowerG daughter card is correctly installed in slot 1. You might want to try reseating the card to ensure proper connection, as the panel may not be detecting it correctly.
Firmware Update: Check if your IQ4 panel has the latest firmware. Sometimes, compatibility issues can arise due to outdated software. Go into your panel settings and check for any available updates. If an update is available, it might fix the issue with unsupported manufacturers.
Device Enrollment Mode: When adding PowerG devices, ensure that you're in the correct device enrollment mode. PowerG devices may require specific steps for pairing. Double-check the process you're using to add the devices and follow the manual closely.
Check Frequency Band Settings: PowerG devices operate on a unique frequency band. Ensure that your panel is configured to communicate over the correct frequency (433 MHz or 915 MHz depending on the region). This might need to be manually configured in some cases.
Reset Devices: If the PowerG devices were previously connected to another panel or system, they may need to be factory reset before they can be added to the IQ4 panel. Check the device manual for instructions on how to reset them to default settings.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be a configuration or compatibility issue specific to your system. Since your panel and devices are from Telus, I'd recommend contacting SmartHome Security tech support.
