Home Security Faulty?

Hi Team,
I used to install fibre optic and felt the connections were very insecure. 4, 6, 8 or 12 houses sometimes were connected either in a very accessible area in a small tub in the ground or on the lines over head (way more secure).
I felt that any customer with a security system with Telus could just have their connection unplugged, potentially by someone looking to rob their house. The tubs in the ground are not locked at all and are very easy to see. Also, the addressess are written on tags on each cable.. Why no locks?

Thanks,
Richard

Disconnecting the Fibre causes the security system to fallback to cellular, and notify the subscriber of the fault.

Hi Team,

Thank you for your explanation on the system. I'm happy to know my potential future system has fault notifications. I always thought this was a big flaw when installing and never knew the truth about it.

Thanks,
