After a thirteen hour power outage the other day the tv picture freezes and pixelates every couple of minutes. Tried all the usual steps and it is still happening. I have the original Optik box and am afraid if I call they will try to get me to switch to the new box. it doesn’t happen if I watch on the Telus app on Apple TV. Anything else I can try?

Was resolved over the phone with tech support. Did all the reboots that I did, so who knows why it didn’t work for me.
Calling in was surprisingly painless, got a call back in half an hour. Then about an hour on the phone while all the reboots took place. The tech called back a couple hours later to check if all was still good.

i have the new one so this may not apply.
unplug it, the modem, the wifi, whatever else provides internet for at least 10 seconds.
then turn on 1st in line, the modem, wait till all lights are green. then turn on wifi, wait until all lights are green, then pvr, then tv. if that does not fix it you save yourself doing for telus tech, maybe

Done all that a number of times. I’ll give it another day before making the dreaded call.

Ask for the same pvr replacement, my gut says you will get one, maybe refurbished
