Copper theft is a serious issue that is affecting communities across Canada. It disrupts vital public safety services and impacts economic stability. We work hard to protect our network and keep our customers connected. Our copper Assurance and Network Assurance teams work tirelessly to mitigate and respond to these incidents. By increasing surveillance, enhancing security, and investing in PureFibre, we strive to reduce impacts.
But we can’t do it alone.
Thieves go to different lengths to steal copper. Literally above and below ground with different levels of sophistication. They have tried to pass themselves off as utility workers by wearing safety vests. Or other times simply attaching an aerial cable to their truck and dragging it down the road behind them. It’s a safety issue all around and people reporting suspicious activity helps reduce the risk. If you see something, say something, and contact your local authorities.
Together we can help protect our community's vital communication services and ensure everyone stays connected and safe.
