What is the issue with getting disconnected?

I've been a loyal customer with Telus for almost 30 years. I have all home and mobile services with them. Today I've called to get in on the 10GB data for $60. I have no contract and own my device. I've been on hold for over 3hrs each time today only to be met with a recording stating "we can't take your call at this time" and to call back. Then.....dead air. Nevermind trying to connect to CHAT where you start out at 1155 in que...get down to maybe 650 and then nothing!!!! Im so unhappy and unimpressed. The deal expires, I believe at midnight. Im so frustrated that Im ready to pull ALL services
