I only use my phone for emergencies and have over 24 hours of unused minutes. Is there any way to possibly donate minutes or dollars? Are there any other options for using up the time?

This was excellent advice.... I had a large balance on my prepaid phone and it was just getting larger all the time with the automatic top-ups, so I got a good guy at Telus to put me into Talk 10. The automatic top-ups have ended, the $10 monthly charge now comes out of my large balance (instead of a new charge on my credit card), and now I can get to using up the balance.
Then when the balance is zero, I can toss this older flip phone and get to researching what new phone and plan to get. I think Telus was afraid they were losing me as a customer because I wanted to use up my balance first and didn't want to go into a new plan right away but that is not the case... I just want to use up my prepaid balance on this old flip phone which still works perfectly and THEN start fresh with a smart phone.

I'm not sure if you can, call the *611 from your device and ask a billing agent, I don't see they wouldn't do it.

Hello Sandra,
Unfortunatelly at the moment there is no way to donate minutes. but if you want to stop doing top ups and you have a large amount of minutes, you can get Talk 10, which is going to deduct from your main balance $10 every month, it will give you a rate of $0.10 per local minute, and you can keep your account without any top up until your balance runs out. If you have any question concerning this you can always call *611 from your cellphone. Have a great one.
