Can I suspend my account to prevent bill payments?

I recently got a work mobile and would like to suspend my personal mobile. Is this possible, how much does it cost and for how long can I do this?

If by suspend you mean to keep your number so you can use it again in the future, I am not aware of an option for that.

You could port your number to Telus pre-paid for $10 per month or $100 per year, which is the cheapest option other than a VoIP service.

Is this a phone on a contract?  You can switch to a smaller plan until your contract expires.

Be careful with work phones used for personal reasons.  Some employers discourage this and if they notice high consumption.... you can be fired for "theft of time or resources".  You might want to compare your consumption with co-workers.  If your consumption is significantly higher, but are not much more productive..... you might be targeted.

Is the work phone Telus?  If not, it's kinda cool to have two carriers... especially if you find deadzones or weak coverage areas with one carrier.

Telus has a $25/mo. vacation disconnect option. This keeps your account and phone number, and continues paying your device balance. This service can only be used once per year. Please call Telus or drop by a local dealer to get full details

Just a small top-up to @blastertoad's comment: Option is for mobile and can only be used for up to 6 months in a calendar year; it's not open-ended.
