I have seen the Telus article about how one must pick out an available #TELUS wifi spot from the available wifi network list on your laptop and register to start using public Telus wifi. I have also downloaded the Telus Wifi Finder and it tells me there is a Telus hotspot near bye the location I sometimes frequent (Macdonalds on 109 St and 84 Ave in Edmonton - the hotspot is La Tienda Cigars right across the street). Yet my (chromebook) device lists no wifi spot named '#TELUS' nearbye to register with. Am I doing something wrong? FYI...I can see the hotspots for various other businesses across the street. Am I supposed to look for a business name instead? Any help appreciated!

You are probably doing nothing wrong, the Hotspot you are looking for probably cancelled their telus service.
I have found Hotspots not listed one the app, some that don't provide Internet access, and some that don't exist, so I would say the app is not perfect.
