wifi 6 range is horrible, we literally lose connect constantly just rooms away. Also cant connect smart devices at all. How do we activate 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz so we can have better range and connect our smart devices??

Wifi 6 also includes the 5GHz band. The higher the frequency of the signal, the more easily impacted it is by things like walls or solid objets.

As for 2.4GHz and smart devices, see my post here: https://forum.telus.com/t5/Internet-Home-Phone/I-was-just-upgraded-to-wifi6-equipment/m-p/148388#M36...

Yeah found that post and followed instructions. Everything seems ok so far!

Hey! Since it looks like things are back to normal I accepted Nighthawk's comment as a solution

I used another router, simply turned it on as a signal repeater. I have one corner in the room that is behind two solid walls, and the signal couldn't get through there. But now it's all good, the second router just catches the signal and boosts it
