Ok, so I'm looking to upgrade from cable internet to fiber. Telus Fiber is available in my neighborhood. Great, sounds like a great fit right?
Except...the website lists that, for my particular house, it is NOT available. Doesn't matter that the houses on either side of mine list it as available, including the one I physically share a wall with (it's a duplex). I've called multiple times, the person on the phone looks it up on the same website I just did, goes "sorry, not available" and that's it. At one point I got them to commit to sending a tech to confirm things, because it doesn't make sense, but no tech has ever shown up. I'm not exactly in the middle of nowhere either; I'm in inner city Calgary.
Why are you making it so hard for me to give you money? For the love of god, please send someone to connect things and I will happily cancel my Shaw account.

Can you confirm that fibre was brought from the street to your residence. I remember when our street was wired for fibre we had to agree to this then or face not having it later. There was no charge to prewire to the house when they were doing the street, in fact we had the prewire for two years before we came over to Telus fibre.
If you said no, not interested when this was done, then you do not have the service to the house.
The call center people you talk to on the phone only see not available, next time give your neighbors address first, they will say available and then give your address, now you get escalted to someone who can think outside the box.
