Smart HUB

Even with 3-4 LEDS of signal the internet drops out and the 'magic circle' just keeps rotating eventually just killing the connection for a random amount of time. Understand that it may have to do with Telus' Management policy of prioritizing cell phone use over internet over the Smart HUB however it is becoming very frustrating and PureFibre although only 4km away will not be in the rural areas around Cawston or Keremeos for a long time so the question is: What can one do if Telus just kills the Smart HUB users when cell phone use takes priority? My iPad will just go from the WiFi connection to straight mobile data when this occurs but the other 2 PC's and 1 MACBook don't, besides we're paying for a internet connection via the Smart HUB. Any suggestions would be appreciated 😣

It’s not clear whether the Wi-Fi drops, or the cellular connection. Your iPad switching to cellular, suggests the Wi-Fi drops, and without a Wi-Fi signal, it makes the switch. Your other devices, which do not have cellular capability, of course can’t switch, and fail entirely. I suggest a bit mor exploration, to determine if it is indeed cellular signal loss, or the Wi-Fi that drops.

Running off the Smart HUB WiFi and also a TP-Link dual band router that experience the same "No internet service" fault and resetting either one or the other makes no difference nor doe recycling the power on the Smart HUB sadly...have researched this a bit and many users around here experience the same thing when cellular only volume is high; add to the fact that with Telus' Peace of Mind plan that has unlimited data a lot of folk just get their internet via their phone and the Management Policy clearly states that cellphone takes 'priority' over the Smart HUB 😣 Anyway thanks for the comeback and will just have sit an wait for PureFibre to get to the rural areas, whenever...

Remember, the unlimited data is at max 512 Kbps, so pretty slow......

Yes we aware however it still takes precedence over the Smart HUB as that's cellphone data not Smart HUB and therefore still restricts the HUB internet...
