Export email folders out of Telus email.

I recently transferred over many WLM email folders to my Google powered Telus Email account using a migration tool. I don’t like that the folders are stored in All Mail and sent items (Telus thing). I want to move the folders again to a normal Gmail account. Note: No google takeout available on the telus account. I created an Outlook email Account with the idea of using Outlook as the transfer tool,  the Storage Folder labels (names) showed up in Outlook but no contents? The folders were empty.

Any ideas?

Hey @Bigo - Did you want specific emails to go to a specific folder within your inbox? That can definitely be done under labels and then you can create a rule for more customization options

No offense to Telus or @Bigo but why have an @telus email account powered by @gmail, why not just get a @gmail brand email that is not linked to Telus and which could be lost if you are no longer a Telus account holder.

It enabled us to keep our email addresses. I now regret not biting the bullet and creating a new email address and a real Gmail account. At the time I was unaware it wasn’t a real Gmail account, it was inside my Windows Live Mail 2012 on Desktop and Mail on my Apple devices.

What I have done is create a new email address in gmail and start using it. Then forward incoming emails to the new account. Have your sig line include reference to change of address. Use the vacation responder to auto reply to incoming email to have your contacts know to change email address. Give it a year and few will still be sending to the former. Phase it out.

WLM = Windows Livemail?

Do you have tons of folders?  If not, and you don't mind recreating the folder structure manually, you can:

- Add the new (Gmail?) IMAP account to Livemail.

- Drag and drop emails from old account to new account
