Block Websites

Hello, 

I have the Arcadyan wireless router and would like to block certain websites without having to us and alternate DNS server. 

I haven’t been able to these features in the TELUS version of the OS, firmware 3.25.03.

At this time, the TELUS-customized firmware on the Arcadyan router does not include native options for website blocking directly through the router settings. We understand how useful this feature would be, and we appreciate the feedback, it's something we've passed along to our product team.

With website blocking being a standard feature on most home routers, I am wondering why this was removed?

Website blocking is indeed a standard feature on many retail routers. In the case of TELUS-provided routers like the Arcadyan, some advanced features (including direct URL filtering) are not available due to the custom firmware we use. This firmware is optimized to support TELUS-specific services, ensure better remote troubleshooting, automatic updates, and consistent performance across a wide range of customer environments.
