Travel Tips

Nothing beats a vacation. Whether it's a quick drive across the border, or a flight across the Pacific...it's always a good idea to be prepared. There's a lot to remember when you're prepping for your time away, from making sure your passport is current to checking that your PVR is set to record the big game while you're away. We've got some great tips and tricks for you here to help you get ready, so let's dig in.

Easy Roam

This the most convenient option for travel, which essentially is like having your current Canadian plan with you while you're away. Access data and enjoy unlimited talk and texts for one daily rate in the U.S. and 200+ other international destinations. Learn more about Easy Roam and how to easily activate it HERE.

Voicemail

You can check your voicemail messages any time from any phone and if you have internet access, you can even listen to them online. You can even have your voicemail sent to you via text or email!

Program Your PVR

Make it to the airport only to realize you forgot to set your PVR to record the big game? No worries, you can always access your guide and record a program with our great new TELUS TV+ app.

eBilling

If you're away on vacation for an extended period of time, make sure you're signed up to get your bill electronically. It's easy to do, and you can set it up for both Home Services and/or Mobility accounts.

Pre-Authorized Payments

TELUS has a number of ways to pay your bill, but if you're on vacation the most convenient is via pre-authorized payments. Get all the info you need for billing on our website HERE.

Vacation Suspension

Going to be sitting on the beach for a few months? Nice. TELUS also has the option for suspending your services for an extended period of time at a reduced charge. Check out all the details for suspending your Home Services HERE. We assume your cellphone won't be further than a few feet away from you while you're on vacation, but in case you'll be leaving it at home, we've got you covered with Mobility Vacation Suspension as well.

*Note: TELUS SmartHome Security services require a solid internet connection to function, so internet service will need to stay active while away.

Check-In Before You Go

If you've left everything to the last minute, always remember you can reach out to us regarding any of the above points or for any other questions you may have before you leave. You can reach our team via Live Chat online, reach out to us over on our Twitter account, or send us a private message at our Facebook page and we'll be around to help!

Enjoy your vacation!
