I have a collections agency who put a flag on my credit which I need to pay before getting a mortgage. Best I can tell it is from Telus wireline which was my home account number from 2019. I am a long time Telus mobility customer to this date and have not been told of any balance owing for this account from Telus. I think this process of getting collections involved is critically impacting families who need to have housing security. The issue is Telus never contacted directly for amount of around $300 that has now several years later skyrocketed to $1700. How can one expect to continue with a company for mobility services who practices in this way?!

I’ve been dealing with the same situation recently. Telus sent my file to collections agency when I had NO outstanding bills from them, it was from a closed account in 2022. I recently found out about the collections agency when I was checking my credit report and the collections were flagged, I have been calling Telus customer service only to find out about 4 different collection agencies that has my information. Telus has even confirmed that I don’t owe them anything but they won’t give me a proof to show the collections agency that has been harassing me by phone and email unless I pay for the copies of the previous bill from a closed account. It’s all so ridiculous. Telus has caused me so much stress that no one deserves to deal with and they don’t even help you to sort the mess they created. Any tips or advice on how I should proceed with this? Thanks in advance

From my personal experience, I used the following ways to contact TELUS:
- Online chat with an agent and requesting a manager call-back
- Sending a private message to TELUS_Support through Telus Neighbourhood
- Filing a complaint with the CCTS, which was the most effective
