- 6 years agoYou need the first boost to be connected by Ethernet to the router. The boost units run their own mesh network separate from the WiFi the router runs. You should disable the WiFi on the router to avoid interference and signal congestion.

What you mean by "the original one needs to stay connected to the router through the ethernet cable"? Did you have a boost before and you just added 2 more?

Hi xray, thanks for your reply. The boosters came in a pack of 2, so by original I mean the first one of the pair, which is connected to the router by the ethernet cable. I didn't have any boosters before this, but from what I'm reading, it looks like I'll have to get at least one more.

Thanks again, xray. How do I disable the wifi on the router? Will that change the name or the strength of my network?
