TSN HDR on Telus TV+ issues

Anyone else having issues with the two TSN HDR channels? (They're on the for the FIFA World Cup)

The picture looks washed out, like the app isn't sending some HDR flag to my tv.

It's not a tv issue, the TSN app seems fine.

Sony TV running Android

Also, anyone know why Telus aren't giving us three channels on the Optik boxes?

  • On your set-top-box what setting do you have under Match Dynamic Content Range? Go to Settings- > Device Settings ->  Device Preferences ->  Display and Sound ->  Match content dynamic range. See if it is set to Never, or to Match. If Never, change it to Match Content Dynamic Range. See if that makes a difference. If it is the opposite, switch to Never. Just go between the two options and compare the colors (don't select Standard Dynamic Range Only though)

  • The difference between hdr and sdr is noticeable with the Netherlands orange. I can see it on my Arris box now

the amount of channels appears to be a bell decision.

You're onto something there!  I do that on a Chromecast and I think it fixes it (the screen connected to it doesn't do HDR).  Now I need to find out how to do that on my Sony Bravia TV.

Also, should the Arris boxes have the HDR channels too?  906 and 907 are currently holding channels for UFC and FIFA.  I can see the HDR channels on the World Cup 'holding channel' but it doesn't work

Yes, the Arris boxes should have the HDR channels as well, you might need to reboot to refresh the guide. Check channels 2082/83 if you are in Alberta, BC or Ontario. Also, for your Sony TV - DolbyVision Bright might work well in this scenario.
