8 hours agoThe recordings that are physically on the old PVR stay there as they are encrypted. They will not work with any other set top box. The Android boxes don't even physically have the ability to have a drive inserted either. Cloud PVR is just that, in the cloud. In theory any existing recording from the last 90 days should become available on the cloud, though there may be exceptions like if the channel they are from no longer exists.
I believe the cloud recording should be automatically included if you had a PVR on your plan. In the unlikely event you run into problems, contact Telus to ensure it's provisioned correctly.
If you're at home, the data used by the Telus Android TV boxes to watch TV and the recordings specifically, should not affect your data cap. That's the same as it was for the Optik boxes. If you use any of the third party apps on the new Android TV boxes, those will count towards data use. (Netflix, other streaming services, etc.) Watching it on your phone or other devices can also count towards data use if on wifi or cellular.
