New smarthub working but no internet connection available

Just had my smarthub wireless internet installed on Tuesday Mar. 24,2026. On Friday March 27,2026 at 9pm my internet stopped working. The hub lights indicate that everything is connected properly, but there isn't a internet to connect to. I called Telus last night and even reset the hub as per the AI instructions. As a result the lights came on as they should again, but no connection to Telus internet. I called again and waited half an hour before being connected with an actual human and spoke to a tech guy in India and he said the hub internet was a Canadian wide outage. He said Telus is working on it, but he could not give me a time. He added my cell number to his system that was supposed to text me outage updates. I haven't received any texts. It's now 6:50am on Saturday and it's still not working. I tried calling again and I am sent through every option that I don't need, only to be told the office is closed! And then the call is disconnected. I cannot get a hold of anyone. What is going on!!?? Four days into this new Telus internet and this is the service I'm getting??!! This is horrible. Please advise.

  • Welcome to Telus.

this is the second time this has happened to me, likely the last. The previous time was for days.  The outage does not show up in their outage map and no notice or indication of when it will be restored.

Starlink looks better all the time.

Thank you for your feedback. This is insane and you are right, it does not show up on their outage map. The AI reset instructions are useless as well. I'm completely shocked that I can't even get a hold of a person because the office is closed. Ok. Fine. It's closed, but when does it open??!! So frustrated.

Yes, last time it happened to me I tried for 3 days to contact someone, finally ended up contacting the business group and they helped.

just ordered Starlink to get rid of this ****.
