Network Access Hub reserved IP addresses.
I just upgraded from the 1 to 3Gbps internet plan due to the black Friday deals and my existing discount terms going away. The Telus technician replaced the Actiontec T3200/Alcatel-Lucent ONT equipme...

Normally the Telus gateways tend to start dynamic LAN IPs at .1.64 and go up from there. It's possible the T3200 was more forgiving and would let you set static IPs below that. If the restriction is baked in to the firmware, you may have to try settings static IPs above .1.64. Tech support won't have a way to override the reservation if it is baked in. Technical support has a narrow scope of support for the more advanced features.

Thank you for the straightforward answer. I was just hoping that was the case. It's too bad their support personnel don't understand even enough so they can let me know. Is it possible to disable LAN DHCP so I can implement a separate DHCP service without conflict? I do not see that option anywhere either. Would enabling Bridge on the NAH work for this?

12 months agoAs far as I know, none of the Telus gateways can have DHCP disabled. If you bridge the NAH and connect your own router to the 10G LAN port, then you connect whatever router you want. One thing I did in the past was connect a router to an unbridged T3200M and just used that. It did create double NAT but for what I was doing at the time, it worked just fine.
