Home webserver woes

Good evening,

I'm attempting to set up a home webserver using my telus fibre home service but keep running into failed connection issues.  So far all of the solutions I've found haven't worked, and all appear to be 3+ years old.

I set up my mini-PC computer as an Apache2 server while at work (using a Telus fibre business account) but trying to connect to it at home fails every time.

Thus far I have tried:

- Switching my Port Forwarding from 80 to 8080, I had read port 80 was blocked on Residential services

- Switching from IPv4 to IPv6 as I had read that Residential IPv4 services are behind CGNAT and won't route correctly.

I have verified my home modem (I do not have any router or switch, all devices are directly connected) has IPv6 enabled and connected by logging into the modem.

Also please note, to connect to my webserver I VPN into my workplace and use a web browser from there to attempt the connection.  My internal LAN connections all work fine, just the WAN connections are broken.

Is there anything else I can try here?  Two days in and I'm getting a big flustered...
