24 days agoSince you've already ruled out Wi-Fi drops by hardwiring your PS5, it points to a WAN routing issue, rather than an issue with the speed or PureFibre line coming into your home. Here's what you can try:
Identify the Target Server IP - since consoles hide these, run a game on a laptop or PC if you can (connected to the same network), or search for your specific game's regional server IP blocks (i.e. AWS US-West-2, Riot Seattle, etc.)
Run a Traceroute - open Command Prompt on a computer and type tracert [Server IP] which maps every single hop your data takes from your home to the game itself. Look for the exact hop where the packet loss percentage spikes.
Test a Network Bypass (Bridge Mode) - Log into your TELUS Network Hub admin page and enable Bridge Mode on the port connected to your own third-party router (if you use one). This ensures our hardware isn't creating NAT table delays.
Once you have a traceroute showing exactly which node (look for IPs containing " .telus.com ") then send our team a private message at this TELUS_Support handle here with the details. We'll need to do it privately as we'll be also gathering your account info to get you connected with our Tech Support team for further assistance. A lot of competitive gamers in Western Canada use temporary routing optimaztion services like ExitLag etc. but of course it's worth looking in to all of this first!
